Export Development Canada is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Financial Advisor to join our EDC Internships team. This role is instrumental in driving the success of EDC's internship programs, providing financial guidance to support the development of emerging talent within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Financial Advisory: Offer expert financial advice and guidance to interns participating in EDC's internship programs, ensuring their understanding and application of financial principles.
- Program Development: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to contribute to the design and enhancement of EDC's internship initiatives, aligning financial strategies with organizational goals.
- Training and Mentorship: Facilitate training sessions and mentorship programs to empower interns with financial knowledge and skills, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Risk Management: Assess and manage financial risks associated with internship projects, providing recommendations to mitigate potential challenges and optimize outcomes.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with external partners, academic institutions, and industry experts to enhance the quality and relevance of EDC's internship programs.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to support decision-making processes related to the allocation of resources, budgeting, and strategic planning for internship initiatives.
- Reporting and Evaluation: Develop and implement performance metrics to measure the success of internship programs, preparing regular reports for senior management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial advisory roles, with a strong background in risk management and program development.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of international trade, finance, and the role of export credit agencies. Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor emerging talent. Experience in training and development is an asset.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make strategic recommendations based on financial data.
